The historic century-old Rentschler family farm is located at 1265 E. Michigan Avenue.
Now owned by the City of Saline, it has been turned
into a museum
depicting American farm family life during the first half
of the 20th century.
The farm museum opened for the first time in May 1999
and currently has
fifteen working exhibits housed in the farmhouse and ten barns.
The farm museum is open to the
public on Saturdays
from May 3
through September in 2008, 11:00am-3:00pm
Exhibit area includes:
- Dairy barn
- Chicken house
- Grain and corn harvests
- Barn preservation tools
- Small equipment and potato crops
- Hog house and butchering
- Farm shop
- Water pump and windmill
- Farm garden
- Large equipment barn
- Ice house
- Sheep and other animals
